Hello, I'm so glad you're here.

My name is Gretchen Champoux, M.Div and I am a Seattle-based psychotherapist specializing in spiritual issues,  anxiety, depression, mental rumination/OCD, and relationship struggles.

Garden + Soul, PLLC is the merging of my two passions: psychotherapy and gardening. I used to think these were two separate endeavors. But the more I practice as a psychotherapist and gardener, the less separate they have become in my mind and heart.  Whether I'm working with soul or soil, both feel like tending to the sacred.

I have been trained in the pastoral counseling tradition which strives to integrate matters of faith and psychology in a way that is holistic, inclusive, and authentic to who you are.

For some, spiritual issues can be a place of pain that a person seeks to avoid or work through. For others, one’s experience and expression of faith is a priceless resource in terms of offering support to one’s healing and growth. An individual who enters my office at any point along this diverse spectrum will find their experience honored and respected. However, you will also find that neither religious nor spiritual values will be imposed on my behalf. All are welcome in my office.

I don't believe gardens or people are meant to be perfect. The joy of this work for me is exploring together the soil of your experience and helping you create the conditions you need not only to help you grow, but thrive.

Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.
